The Marquee control is used to have a scrolling message appear to your site visitors. An example of a Marquee control is at the top of this page. This Marquee is set to scroll from right to left, but the marquee can also be set to scroll left to right, top to bottom, or bottom to top. The speed of the scolling as well as the amount of movement during the scrolling can also be set.
Content managers have the ability to create the messages that appear. These messages may be time stamped to allow them to automatically start on the date specified and end on the date specified. You can also format the messages using the standard HTML tags if you want to add colors, make words bold or italics, or any other formatting that is permitted in HTML.
The image below shows what the edit page looks like. New entries can be added, existing entries deleted or the message changed. Messages that may appear several times throughout a year may be entered and it will show during the dates selected. Later, you can edit the entry to specify the date that you want the entry to appear next, saving you the time needed to reenter the same message.
